Mannima and Bonaldi FIS Marathon Cup Champs
The FIS Marathon Cup presented by Worldloppet has crowned the world’s best long distance Cross-Country skiers at the famous Engadin Skimarathon (SUI) on 10th March. Tatiana Mannima from Estonia and Sergio Bonaldi from Italy claimed the titles of overall champion of this season’s tour.
A 27th place in the final stage was enough for Bonaldi (271 points) to claim his victory ahead of Benoit Chauvet (FRA, 227 points) and Anders Aukland (NOR, 220 points).
On the ladies’ side, Mannima (402 points) already secured her victory after the American Birkebeiner (USA) race. Seraina Boner (SUI, 320 points) and Antonella Confortola (ITA, 274 points) completed the mix of nations on the podium as second and third.
In the 2012/13 season, from 16th December 2012 until 11th March 2013, nine stages of the FIS Marathon Cup races were carried out across eight different nations: Austria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, France, Italy and the United States.
