Athletes can still participate in WADA Code Review!
With the deadline for the Second Consultation Phase of the Code Review approaching on 10th October, the FIS Athletes’ Commission would once again like to encourage their peers to take an active role in the review process. Feedback can be directly provided through the online platform WADAConnect.
“We all know best what it is like to have a doping control in the middle of the night or right after a race. To continue protecting the rights of athletes, we should give our constructive advice on how the Code can cover our needs as best as possible”, stated Kilian Albrecht, Chairman of the FIS Athletes’ Commission.
The Code is currently undergoing a two-year review which will culminate in a new version being approved at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in November 2013.
There are three Consultation Phases, with the third running from 1st December to 1st March 2013. Although the next version of the Code will be approved in November 2013, it will not come into force until 1st January 2015.
