Fiemme 2013 reaches 100 day milestone
The countdown to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme (ITA) is closing in. In less than 100 days, on 20th February 2013, the world’s best Cross-Country skiers and Ski Jumpers from more than 50 different countries will gather at the foot of the majestic Dolomite mountains, where the Nordic Ski highlight will be taking place for the third time since 1991.
“Everything is ready to welcome the great event in around three months’ time and we can’t wait! We keep working, meeting up, fixing the last details and ticking the last boxes on our list. But there is no rush, the entire team looks tranquil. I would especially like to thank the huge group of volunteers who are giving us great help in all activities, said Pietro De Godenz, Chair of the Fiemme2013 the Organising Committee.
With the first snow already on the peaks of the Dolomites, the infrastructure is almost ready for the kick-off with some temporary installations still being set up inside both Cross-Country and Ski Jumping stadiums, namely the athlete’s villages, wax cabins and temporary stands.
Featuring a maximum capacity of 50’000 spectators in Cross-Country, and 25’000 in Ski Jumping, the stadiums are all set for some great fan atmosphere. In addition, a total of 59 national and international broadcasters, will deliver the events to the home screens of Nordic ski fans around the world.
