Ladies Ski Jumping: Overall decision in Far East?

Ladies Ski Jumping: Overall decision in Far East?

The FIS Ladies Ski Jumping World Cup presented by Viessmann will continue this upcoming weekend in Zao, Japan, which could become the decisive stage in regard to the overall victory.

Three competitions will be held in the Yamagata Prefecture. Sarah Hendrickson's overall lead over Daniela Iraschko (AUT) is 211 points and if the American returns to Europe with an advantage of a 100 points or more, the historical first crystal globe is hers.

The main focus will be, however, on local heroine Sara Takanashi. The Japanese jumper won the first ladies' Olympic gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck (AUT) in January and was crowned FIS Junior World Champion in Erzurum (TUR) in February. All important Japanese media representatives, from TV as well as local agencies and newspapers, have accredited themselves for this World Cup stage.

Zao has hosted the ladies FIS Continental Cup competitions since 2006. In 2011, Yuki Ito (JPN) was the winner and in 2010, Daniela Iraschko (AUT) and Ulrike Graessler (GER) achieved the first places.
