Busy week for Fiemme 2013 The Organizing Committee for Fiemme 2013 is making great progress. With just over 9 months until the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships there begin, the venues in Lago di Tesero (Cross-Country Stadium) and Predazzo (Ski Jumping Arena) are practically finished, whilst the Cavalese congress center is presently under refurbishment scheduled for completion at the end of the summer, to be ready to host the Fiemme 2013 main media center. Last week, the Fiemme 2013 team together with the Championship's marketing partner Tridem Sports held a sponsor workshop with the international brands that will be supporting the event, namely Viessmann, Vattenfall, Intersport, Coop, Bet-at-home, Hyundai and Trentino. The Eurovision broadcasters (ZDF, ARD, NRK, ORF, SVT, YLE, RTV and SRG, among others) along with Italy's RAI Sport team also gathered in Val di Fiemme for the World Broadcaster Meeting. Representing the host broadcaster, Maurizio Ciarnò, RAI coordinator for Fiemme 2013, said, "We will be using all our available resources to offer the highest product in terms of professionalism and functionality. We've been developing the project for months and will be able to respond to any requests from the international broadcasters." The Cross-Country competitions will be covered by 35 cameras while the ski jumping stadium will be presented through 16 cameras. RAI and Fiemme 2013 aim to reach more than 500 million spectators across the globe, the benchmark set by the 2003 Nordic Worlds held in Val di Fiemme. Finally, the penultimate Coordination Group meeting for Fiemme 2013 completed the busy week in the Valley of Fiemme on Friday. Again, all aspects of the Organizers' progress were reviewed and the joint FIS and Tridem Sports team was very pleased with what they saw. Sarah Lewis, FIS Secretary General commented: "The FIS Coordination Group is highly satisfied with the latest progress made by the Organising Committee and the host broadcast operation of RAI Sport. A great enthusiasm is growing and the confidence of the team has been boosted after successful FIS World Cup events last season. Now we can look forward to the final inspection in October and major international media attention with keen anticipation." For more information please visit fiemme2013.com |
