Hot FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix in Hinterzarten

Last weekend saw Germany‘ Andreas Wank win the FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix on his home soil in Hinterzarten. With temperatures up to 30 degrees Celsius, Wank flew ahead of Reruhi Shimizu (JPN) and Lukas Hlava (CZE) with 100.5 and 104.5 metre jumps.

In the second mixed team competition in history, Austria clinched the title ahead of Japan and Germany.

After Alexandra Pretorius‘ (CAN) surprise winning at the first Ladies‘ Summer Grand Prix in Courchevel (FRA) on 15th August, Austria’s Daniela Iraschko claimed the top of the podium in Hinterzarten. She landed at 99 and 103 metres ahead of Sara Takanashi (JPN) and Carina Vogt (GER).

The next stops on the FIS Ski Jumping Grand Prix tour will be Hakuba (JPN), 24th-26th August on the men’s side, whilst the ladies will jump high up again in the final Summer Grand Prix event in Almaty (KAZ) that is located at an altitude of 1500-2000 meters above sea level, scheduled on 21st-23rd September for both genders.
