Morgenstern conquers Four-Hills, Harrachov Thomas Morgenstern did it! The 24-year-old from Carinthia won the Four-Hills-Tournament for the first time in his career. In spite of all the pressure, he captured the overall victory in a dominating fashion. After Wolfgang Loitzl and Andreas Kofler, who won in 2009 and 2010, Morgenstern is the third Austrian in a row to win this traditional event. "It's not real for me yet. There are so many emotions. I enjoyed it, the audience was awesome", said the winner. "Thanks to everyone who made this possible." Simon Ammann came in second in the overall ranking ahead of B'hofen winner Tom Hilde of Norway, who moved up to third from sixth. After continuing his winning ways at the weekend in the Ski Flying competitions in Harrachov (CZE), where he claimed his first Ski Flying victory, Thomas Morgenstern is not very far away from his second overall World Cup title. Morgenstern has already scored 1083 points after just a half of the season. He is 402 points ahead of Simon Ammann (681 points). Clearly, Thomas Morgenstern is the dominating jumper of the current season - no matter how big the hills are. Contributed by fisskijumping.com |
