FIS receives Hannu Koskivuori award

“HihtoSuomi (Ski Finland)” is the official assembly of the Finnish Ski Association that takes place every two years, gathering together 150 representatives from 70 Finnish ski clubs to discuss current topics in the FIS disciplines. In addition to the statutory business of the national gathering, FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis was requested to attend and give a presentation about the significance of the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships that have recently been awarded to Lahti and Finland.

At the conclusion of the session, President of the Finnish Ski Association and FIS Council Member Matti Sundberg presented the 28th awarding of the Hannu Koskivuori medal to FIS, honouring its outstanding achievements as the International Ski Federation. It counts as the most valuable prize of the Finnish Ski Association presented annually to outstanding personalities, organisations or societies. Hannu Koskivuori was the President of the Finnish Ski Association in the period of 1967-1985.

In addition to the award ceremony, the Finnish Ski Association elected its new Ski Council consisting of 40 members.
