Swiss Ski General Assembly elects new board member after a highly successful season

Walterswil in the region of Berne was the stage of the 108 annual meeting of Swiss-Ski last weekend. On the agenda was the election of the new Board. As Urs Lehman was reaffirmed in his role as President along with Jean-Philippe Rochat and Urs Winkler as Vice-Presidents, Peter Barandun was elected to replace Eloi Rossier who stood down after eight years of function. Further members, representing the regions, are Florence Koehn, Johny Wyssmüller and newly elected Reini Regli.

During the Assembly, President Urs Lehman and Swiss-Ski director Andreas Wenger reported on a successful year for the association, from both sports and financial perspectives. With 129 World Cup podium results, of which 47 were victories, the season 2011/12 marks one of the best in the history of Swiss-Ski. In addition, financial statements reported a surplus of CHF 330,000.

The annual meeting was enriched by the appointment of honorary members including top Alpine skier Didier Cuche, Ski Jumping star Andreas Küttel and successful female Snowboarder Fränzi-Mägert-Kohli.
