Unseasonable weather brings schedule changes

Unseasonable weather brings schedule changes

Lack of snow and adverse weather conditions forced the Organisers in Schonach (GER) to cancel the DKB FIS Nordic Combined World Cup competitions scheduled there for 7th and 8th January 2012. However, in less than a week, the German Ski Association, the Organisers in Schonach and Oberstdorf and FIS were able to move the competitions from Schonach to Oberstdorf.

Oberstdorf hosted the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup competitions in 2004 and 2007 and have been on the Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix calendar for the last four years, including hosting a spectacular night event in the Summer of 2011. Oberstdorf will host a 4x5km team event on Saturday and 10km individual Gundersen on Sunday.

Meanwhile the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup snowboard cross competitions scheduled in Bad Gastein (AUT) on 14th - 15th January 2012 had to be cancelled due to a lack of snow. Information about potential replacement is not yet available.
