Aerials titles to Xu and Rochon After Hannah Kearney and Mikael Kingsbury had already confirmed the overall and moguls globes prior to the season's final moguls World Cup event in Megeve (FRA) on Sunday the only titles up for grabs were the aerials globes that were battled out in Myrkdalen-Voss (NOR) on Saturday. As so often this season, the Chinese ladies were the measure of all things also in the season finals, sweeping the podium led by Mengtao Xu. She thereby also confirmed her overall aerials title win, and 2nd place overall, ahead of teammate Shuang Cheng who was also on the podium in each event this season. Olga Volkova finished third for the season. On the men's side, Belorussian Dmitri Dashinski scored his season's only podium after winning the event. The season title however went to Canada's Olivier Rochon ahead of Zongyang Jia and Swiss Thomas Lambert. Jia was the only male aerialist with multiple season victories claiming three in the ten competitions. The final dual moguls in Megeve saw Patrick Deneen (USA) and Justine Dufour-Lapointe triumph and confirm their runner-up positions behind the season dominators Kearney and Kingsbury in the season rankings. |
