Harmonious citadin racing season ends The season for the FIS Citizen racers has now concluded. The overall FIS-CIT calendar for the 2010/2011 consisted of 130 races for the men and 129 races for ladies. 22 events had to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions. The final in the FIS-CIT World Cup took place on 19th March at Patscherkofel - Innsbruck (AUT). The competition season saw 14 competitions staged for both ladies and men (in all four events) and a total of 587 racers from 41 countries scored points in the Arnold Lunn World Cup. Every victory scored 50 points, whereas one point was given for the 20th place. The victory in the Nations' Cup went to Austria, followed by Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland. The individual victories both went to Germany, with Marie Therese Schoepf winning the ladies' rankings and Max Maas the men's. Citadin racing is for those who enjoy skiing and the thrill of racing but live in towns or lowland areas, so that they can only visit the mountains at weekends or holiday times. In 1937, Arnold Lunn worked out rules for these townsmen and set a first race for them in Murren (SUI).
