Toni Real receives FIS Journalist Award The Spanish journalist Toni Real, director and presenter of "Temps de neu" snow news magazine in Televisió de Catalunya, has been awarded with the FIS Journalist Award. Real officially received the award from María José Rienda at the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships in Sierra Nevada this week. Real is known as presenter of 500 snow reports in 33 different countries in the course of his 26-year television career, and as author of many books and guides regarding skiing in Spain. Upon receiving the award, Real commented: "I am truly happy. First, because the many years of my work are being awarded, second because it is also a way to recognize that skiing does exist in Spain. The fact that FIS pays attention to Spain, means that something has changed. And that makes me happy." There is only one other Spanish journalist who has received the FIS Journalist Award: Manolo Santanaella. The Andalusian journalist who died in 2008 received the award posthumously. |
