Worldloppet convenes in Tartu
The Annual General Meeting of Worldloppet, the association bringing together the 15 most important popular Cross-Country Skiing marathons took place in Tartu, Estonia from 14th until 17th June 2012.
Among the most significant decisions were the election of the Secretary General and the inclusion of a new marathon in the Worldloppet series.
Angelo Corradini was re-elected as Secretary General of the Worldloppet for the next four years, continuing his tenure in office that began in 2004. Corradini also leads the Organizing Committee for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, Val di Fiemme 2013.
Furthermore, the Demino Ski Marathon (RUS) officially became a member of the Worldloppet family and is now included in the Worldloppet series.
Today, Worldloppet consists of 15 ski marathons staged on four continents including Asia, America, Australia and Europe. In recent years, more than 100’000 skiers have participated in Worldloppet marathons per season.
