Event calendar for Voss2013 is nailed

Event calendar for Voss2013 is nailed

In early March 2013, there will be a spectacular six-day Freestyle Skiing festival. After numerous constructive meetings at the FIS Congress 2012 in Kangwonland (KOR), the program of the 2013 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships in Voss (NOR) was finalised. The event will start off with a halfpipe competition on 5th March, carried out in the city of Oslo. After this "prologue", title competitions in moguls, dual moguls, aerials, ski cross and slopestyle will be staged at the brand new Freestyle venue in Myrkdalen, located 25 km from the town centre of Voss.

Throughout Norway, the event will be broadcasted by NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, while negotiations at an international level are still ongoing under the lead of international TV rights holder Sunset & Vine. More than 50 nations are expected to be able to watch the FIS Freestyle Ski Worlds on the device of their choice.

The final World Championship schedule required detailed coordination with the 2013 FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Val di Fiemme (ITA), the 2013 Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in Kvitfjell (NOR) and the Biathlon World Cup in Holmenkollen (NOR) to ensure the optimal production and coverage for all.

“Now, there are nine months of hard work ahead of us before about 350 athletes from more than 35 countries will travel to Norway to determine who is best in the world of Freestyle Skiing”, said Trond Syversen, CEO of Voss2013.

The 2013 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships calendar contains the following events:

Tuesday, 5th March: Halfpipe (Oslo)
Wednesday, 6th March: Moguls (Voss)
Thursday, 7th March: Arial (Voss)
Friday, 8th March: Parallel moguls (Voss)
Saturday, 9th March: Slopestyle (Voss)
Sunday, 10th March: Ski Cross (Voss)
