Dry slope racing season underway in the UK As many national teams travel the world over in search of snow, the dry slope ski racing season is in full swing in Great Britain. The 36th edition of the All England Championship in 2011 saw some 200 racers fight for the artificial ski slope championship titles in the open category. Dry slope skiing is a year-round sport in countries like the UK where the snow cover is insufficient for traditional skiing. There is a thriving race programme on British slopes and the biggest race of the season attracting the largest field of racers are the All England Championships which took place ten days ago and were followed by the Welsh Championships last weekend.
