1st World Snow Day: 219 organizers in 39 countries
The official registration deadline for the organizers of the inaugural World Snow Day has passed and the first World Snow Day in just one month's time on 22nd January 2012 will see the very impressive number of 219 events in 39 countries!
The global interest in joining the momentum to promote snow sports and all things snow through very many unique and exciting activities is astonishing and the recent snowfalls in Europe and Scandinavia have increased the momentum towards the big day.
"The World Snow Day has gained impressive awareness and support from the winter sports world. During the first part of the season meeting many FIS World Cup Organizers, they are enthusiastically telling us about their plans for the day and the involvement of many parts of the local community. It's been great to collaborate with so many stakeholders involved with winter sports," stated Sarah Lewis, FIS Secretary General.
The focus of the World Snow Day organizers will now turn to promoting their events for participants to join in the fun on and in the snow. Stay tuned for the new World Snow Day TV spot that will be launching on 1st January 2012, along with various other promotional specials both off and on-line.
