Untimely passing of Bengt Nybelius
FIS sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Bengt Nybelius (SWE) who passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack last Wednesday 21st December 2011 in his home town of Falun.
Well-known for his efforts even to the level of the European Union to ensure high quality educational opportunities for young top athletes while pursuing their sport careers, Bengt Nybelius was also one of the pioneers for Ski Jumping in Sweden. He served as a FIS Technical Delegate for several decades and was also one of the first proponents of ladies‘ Ski Jumping.
