Mattel best in ladies' Ski Jumping summer COC

The summer series in the ladies' Continental Cup in Ski Jumping concluded in Trondheim (NOR) last weekend. After eight competitions, France's Coline Mattel was best, collecting 539 points. Sara Takanashi of Japan trailed Mattel by 103 points whilst last season's overall COC winner Daniela Iraschko was 179 points behind. Altogether 54 ladies scored points in the summer series.

On the final weekend, Iraschko and her teammate Jacqueline Seifriedsberger took a double victory on Saturday and Sunday with Iraschko leading the way on both days. Mattel finished 3rd on Saturday whilst young German Katharina Althaus from Oberstdorf took 3rd on Sunday. Mattel fell in the first round of Sunday's competition in Trondheim ranking only 24th initially, just to finish 9th in the final results.

The next events of the ladies COC series will take place in mid-November in Rovaniemi (FIN), and the first ladies' FIS Ski Jumping World Cup competition will then be held in Lillehammer on December 3rd.

In the men's summer Ski Jumping COC rankings Aleksander Zniszczol from Poland and Peter Prevc from Slovenia are putting up a tight duel with the two being separated by just one point (471-470) after eight competitions.
