The current FIS Cross-Country Race Director Jürg Capol (47, SUI) will move to a new position of Nordic Director for FIS Marketing AG, a joint venture of which FIS is the majority shareholder.
"We sincerely thank Jürg for his services during the last nine seasons. "Given his new position with FIS Marketing AG, we will continue to benefit from Jürg's vast expertise and contact networks. We are convinced that we are in good hands with Pierre, who has already worked with us during the last two seasons and will continue to foster the new positive image of Cross-Country Skiing."
"At FIS Marketing AG, we are delighted to welcome Jürg in our team. He will lead our extended activities in the Nordic disciplines. His extensive experience will help us manage and develop these exciting communication platforms for the benefit of both our sponsors and FIS," says Christian Pirzer, CEO and Partner of FIS Marketing AG.
"I am very satisfied with the new appointments in the FIS Cross-Country Skiing team. The crew is experienced and knowledgeable. In my new position with FIS Marketing AG I will be able to work closely with planning marketing, implementation and support for all Nordic World Cups," states Jürg Capol.
"I'm looking forward to tackling the new challenge as the FIS Cross Country Race Director and I am glad to have an established and skilled crew around me. I want to say thank you to the French Ski Association for the trust and support they gave me in the past years," adds Pierre Mignerey.
