“I started skiing when …”
World Snow Day is about getting giving children and their families a chance to Enjoy, Explore and Experience the snow. Whilst we look to the next generation of skiers and snowboarders World Snow Day will also be looking to find out how some of the most famous and well known personalities of the snow industry began skiing and snowboarding. For the first edition of World Snow Day we found out how some of the best snowboarders in the world including Freddy Austbo, Iouri Podladtchikov, Nadja Purtschert, Benji Farrow, Sarka Pancochova, Tore Holvik, Zac Black, Jan Scherrer and Janni Korpi started snowboarding. For the next edition of World Snow Day the team has already been hard at work finding out how Alpine Skiing legends Anja Pearson, Ken Read and Berhard Russi began skiing. In addition, the World Snow Day team has been exploring how some of the FIS staff including Nordic Combined Race Director Lasse Ottesen and Ski Jumping Race Director Walter Hofer started their snow sport lives.
