Clean as Snow launches for Snowboarding in Jauerling (AUT)
After the initial launch for the Nordic disciplines in Ruka, Kuusamo (FIN) in November and for Alpine in Flachau (AUT) and for Freestyle Skiing in St Johann/Oberndorf (AUT), the FIS Anti-Doping campaign; "Skiers and Snowboarders Say NO! to Doping" - Clean as Snow saw its Snowboarding launch in Jauerling (AUT) last week.
Say NO! To Doping is an awareness campaign created by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) for organizations to unite in support of doping-free sport. FIS is fully committed to the fight against doping and is proud to have WADA‘s endorsement for its Clean as Snow campaign which incorporates the WADA guidelines.
The Clean as Snow campaign was launched with the support of the FIS Athletes' Commission, underlining its proactive stance for anti-doping in support of fair and clean ski sports. In Jauerling, all participating athletes were again encouraged to promote the campaign through Clean as Snow material as well as signing up on a branded Clean as Snow plastic glass in the finish area.
Canadian Snowboard athlete and 2010 Olympic Champion Jasey-Jay Anderson stated: "Sport is about being the best that I can be. There is an ugly, dirty path that diverges from this principle. I chose the clean, white path. I use determination."
