Bring Children to the Snow represented at ISPO

Bring Children to the Snow represented at ISPO

The International Sporting Goods Tradefair (ISPO) Munich is the largest showcase of the outdoor sporting brands in the world. The 47th ISPO had over 2,000 brands showcasing their up and coming products as well as the staging of the second ISPO Healthstyle and ISPO Health Forum. A central part of the Health Forum were three panel discussions which took experts on various areas of health and lifestyle industry to discuss topics such as technology advancements and importantly youth in activity.

As part of the panel for youth inactivity Satu Kalajainen - FIS Chairperson of the Cross-Country Sub- Committee for Youth and Children – participated and presented the excellent progress the Bring Children to the Campaign has achieved in the past five years. Satu commented “This was a great platform for FIS to reach out further to the industry and inform them of Bring Children to the Snow campaign. It is great see and with many thanks to all the event Organisers, FIS and its partners are going beyond just creating a document, but are tackling youth inactivity head on with the Bring Children to the Snow Campaign. We encourage all event Organisers to keep staging World Snow Day and FIS SnowKidz events because the outside world is noticing.”
In addition to the ISPO organised events, FIS also had the opportunity to further its work with the World Federation of the Sporting Good Industry (WFSGI) and directly engage the sporting goods industry. With many thanks to WFSGI Secretary General Robert de Kock and his team, Bring Children to the Snow team members Andrew Cholinski and David Broere took the opportunity to speak to manufacturers and begin discussions on partnerships with Organisers. FIS Coordinator Andrew Cholinksi remarked “It was valuable to meet directly with manufacturers such as Head, Salomon, Fischer, Quiksilver, Volcom and discuss Bring Children to the Snow and the results it has achieved. We had positive feedback from all the brands and they can see what great work the Organisers are doing. We encourage all World Snow Day and FIS SnowKidz Organisers to ensure their reports are submitted from their events because this is what the brands will be looking at closely.”

FIS would like to warmly thank the ISPO Organising committee and the WFSGI for their continued support in the campaign.
