FIS Aid & Promotion Training Camp in Hintertux
As part of the Aid & Promotion program for developing ski nations, this season's first training camp has been staged at the Hintertux Glacier (AUT) in early May 2012. A total of 47 athletes born between 1993 and 1997 from 17 different National Ski Associations have taken part in the camp.
Excellent weather offered good snow and slope conditions which strongly contributed to the success of the training camp. While the mornings contained intensive slalom and giant slalom training, afternoon sessions kept athletes active in dry-land activities and testing.
All participants were provided a tailored training program in order to stay in shape during summer. The FIS Aid & Promotion training camp program will follow up with further preparatory training sessions for the upcoming race season during the summer and autumn months.
