FIS Wiki hits 3 million page views
The possibly somewhat lesser known FIS online resource, the FIS Wiki which can be found at http://wiki.fisski.com, has hit the major milestone of a total of 3 million page views on Wednesday 28th December 2012. The main resource for information on the FIS Bring Children to the Snow campaign and a highly comprehensive resource for anyone interested in Freestyle Skiing, the FIS Wiki has recorded 500,000 hits in the past 90 days.
Offering various case studies and materials on efforts and experiences of a multitude of National Ski Associations to introduce youngsters to skiing and snowboarding, the FIS Wiki is a great reference for ensuring that no wheel is re-invented. For Freestyle Skiing, the FIS Wiki offers a comprehensive starting point for anything from rules, to educational materials and competition management.
Joe Fitzgerald, FIS Freestyle Skiing Coordinator who has invested major efforts in maintaining this Freestyle Skiing resource stated: ‘Since the FIS Communications department started the FIS Wiki in the summer of 2008, it has become a very important part of our work in Freestyle Skiing. It is truly becoming our knowledge base and we have found that trying to gather our information all in one place and then linke it all together helps with the collective learning and supports to diffuse Freestyle Skiing around the globe."
