Worlds Candidates in Korea
Representatives of the Candidates for the FIS World Championships 2016 and 2017, FIS Travel Service and FIS gathered at the 2012 FIS Congress site, the High 1 Resort in Kangwonland (KOR), from 12th-14th October, to inspect the facilities, including defining the space for the exhibition of the Candidates during the Congress week. Candidates were personally greeted and accompanied by FIS Council Member from Korea, Dr. Sung-Won Lee.
Thanks to the extensive preparations of the Kangwonland High 1 Resort FIS Congress team and the partnering technical company, the Candidates were together able to decide on the best location for the exhibition, as well as meet with all the responsible persons to ensure a smooth running of the operations during the Congress week. As is customary, a draw confirmed the exact locations of the Candidates stands, as well as the order of the presentations to the FIS Council, which will start with Ski Flying and Freestyle/Snowboarding and followed by the Candidates for the Nordic and finally the Alpine Events.
The Candidates already have many ideas for their stand presentation as well as hospitality, so Congress participants can already look forward to a wide variety of authentic national atmospheres and culinary specialties.
Everyone present from the delegation was especially impressed with the new Congress facilities, which officially opened on 1st September. The meeting rooms are equipped with state-of-the art technology and conveniently located to each other as well as to the exhibition, where the coffee breaks will also be located.
