Alpine World Cup back in Europe

Alpine World Cup back in Europe

After an extended stay in North America the Audi FIS Ski World Cup is back in Europe. While the men had their first training on the famed Saslong in Val Gardena / Gröden (ITA) Wednesday, the ladies’ will continue their season in the French Alps in Courchevel on Saturday and Sunday where a technical weekend with a giant slalom and a slalom race is in store. Given the prospect of heavy snowfall, a potential schedule change may be decided at short notice, to be decided by noon on Friday. In that case, the slalom may take place on Saturday and the giant slalom be rescheduled to Sunday.

It will be a full ski racing program for the next seven days as a total of eight competitions have been scheduled and confirmed after official snow controls. After the Saslong super-G and downhill races on Friday and Saturday, the men will be continuing on to Alta Badia just over the mountain pass, to race a giant slalom and slalom. On Tuesday and Wednesday next week, the make-up slalom events for the cancelled Levi World Cup for both the ladies and men have been confirmed to take place in Flachau (AUT) following an official snow control on Wednesday.
