FIS Council to meet in Schladming (AUT)

The FIS Council will hold its traditional autumn meeting exceptionally not at the FIS Office in Oberhofen, but on the invitation of the Austrian Ski Association in Schladming in order to visit the new constructions built for the 2013 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships.

On Sunday, the Council toured the new facilities led by Schladming Mayor Jürgen Winter who presented the new Media Center that will be officially opened on 9th December and will be in use already at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Night Race in January 2012. Ernst Trummer, CEO of Planai Bahnen showed the Council the new finish area and the subterranean service facilities.

The Council's autumn meeting will take place on Monday 7th November. The agenda will include, among other things, final rule precisions for the upcoming season proposed by the respective Technical Committees after their meetings in Zürich in early October. The Council also will receive progress reports on the preparation of various FIS World Championships and determine the minimum prize money for the 2012/2013 season. The decisions of the Council will be communicated after the conclusion of the meetings.
