FIS Congress: Travel information for participants
In just few weeks, some 800 participants will make their way to Korea for the 48th International Ski Congress from 27th May until 2nd June 2012. A welcome reception by the Korean Ski Association on Monday, 27th May, 19:00 at the Kangwonland Hotel will mark the official opening of the week which promises to be a fantastic occasion for the worldwide FIS family.
Regarding transfers from the airport to the hotel, please note the following instructions:
- For Congress participants who have made their flight arrangements through FIS Travel Service, transfers to and from Kangwonland Hotel are included in the arrangements and have been reserved based on their flight schedules.
- For those who have made own flight arrangements, transfers may be booked through FIS Travel Service by latest Wednesday 16th May 2012, in order to guarantee reservations with the bus company.
Upon arrival at the airport participants will be greeted by the transportation team who will be holding FIS Congress signs. In addition, there will be two FIS Congress transportation desks located in the arrivals area, desk no. 61 and desk no. 36. Participants are advised to make their way to the transportation desks in case of any difficulties upon arrival.
Luxury travel coaches will take Congress participants to Kangwonland Hotel. The journey will take approximately 3.5 to 4 hours and the buses will make a stop about half way at a very nice rest area where light snacks, refreshments and a chance to freshen up will be offered. The service station is well equipped with restaurants and cafes as well as clothing and convenience shops. This may be useful if luggage does not arrive, since the possibilities to purchase goods at/near Kangwonland Hotel are limited.
A further information letter for the FIS Congress participants will be sent out with flight confirmation details by FIS Travel Service and to those who have registered their own flight details for the transfer service.
