2012 fastest men’s downhill racers
For those interested in statistics about the fastest male downhill, an interesting analysis provided by Matteo Pacor, chief of press in Bormio has come to the attention of FIS.
The list comprises the races during the entire calendar year of 2012 and a broad mix of nations fill the top spots. Klaus Kroell (AUT), Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR) and Erik Guay (CAN) are the fastest three athletes when their individual times of each downhill race staged during the 2012 calendar year were added up, followed by Dominik Paris (ITA) and Hannes Reichelt (AUT). Amazingly, even after 35,690 meters of downhill ski racing and a total time of 21 minutes and 57.07 seconds only 16 hundredths of a second divide the top two downhillers who finished all downhill races last year. Those who failed to finish one or more competitions are not included.
