100 days to go: Elections for FIS Worlds 2016/2017
There are now just 100 days to go until the election of the Organizers of the FIS World Championship 2016 and 2017 takes place in Kangwonland (KOR) on 31st May 2012. Since the FIS Autumn Meetings 2011, where the Candidates presented their initial event concepts, each of them has been working to further develop their dossiers. Likewise, all three Candidates for the Alpine events (Ǻre of Sweden, Cortina d'Ampezzo of Italy and St Moritz of Switzerland) and the four for the Nordic events (Lahti of Finland, Oberstdorf of Germany, Planica of Slovenia and Zakopane of Poland), along with Ski Flying World Championships 2016 (Kulm of Austria) and the combined Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard World Championships 2017 (Sierra Nevada of Spain) showcased themselves during the inaugural FIS World Snow Day on January 22nd 2012 with great success.

During the 48th International Ski Congress week at High 1 Resort, Kangwonland (KOR), all the Candidates will have the chance to showcase themselves in the FIS World Championship Candidates exhibition. Furthermore each of them will be presenting their candidatures in the main Technical Committee Meeting, in addition to their Official Presentation to the FIS Council. Finally on Thursday 31st May 2012, the FIS Council will elect the Organizers of the 2016/2017 FIS World Championships, the results of which will be announced at an evening reception - with live streaming to the world.
