Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix review
At the third stop of this year's FIS Summer Grand Prix in Val di Fiemme (ITA) on 29th August, Magnus Moan from Norway managed to grab the top spot of the podium. Austria’s athletes also showed an impressive performance with Mario Stecher finishing second and Bernhard Gruber coming in as third.
With this result, Gruber extends his lead in the FIS Summer Grand Prix overall to 405 points. He is followed by Todd Lodwick (180) and Akito Watabe (173).
In the prior competition in Oberwiesenthal (GER) on 25th-26th August, Jason Lamy Chappuis and Francois Braud (FRA) won the FIS Nordic Combined Summer Grand Prix team sprint while Gruber triumphed in the individual Gundersen event. He shared the podium with Miroslav Dvorak (CZE) and Gasper Berlot (SLO).
In the team competition, Chappuis and Braud worked their way up ahead of team Austria I (Druml/ Gruber) and team Slovenia (Berlot/ Jelenko) with an outstanding roller skiing performance. In the end, they reached the finish line with a lead of 9.7 seconds.
