Coming from the talented French halfpipe movement that includes the likes of Marie Martinod and Kevin Rolland, Ben Valentin is entering his 10th consecutive season on the halfpipe World Cup tour.
Since January 2008, when he first competed at the World Cup event in the French resort Les Contamine, the 24-year-old freeskier from La Plagne has scored 10 podium finishes on tour with four silver and six bronze medals. And while he still lacks a world cup win, it would be odd not to include him among top seeds for the 2017/2018 season.
Similarly to his French halfpipe teammates, Valentin is known for his consistency what proves why he has been top 5 World Cup athlete for the last three years now. Also last season he was just one step away to repeat his 2011 performance and walk home with the halfpipe crystal globe, but at the end he had to settle for the second spot, falling short to his countryman and great friend Kevin Rolland by a narrow margin of five points.
Valentin will be certainly looking to step things up in the 2017/2018 season and while he represent the finest French pipe quality, we are sure to expect great things from him once the season kicks off for good in December.
