New to the FIS Freestyle World Cup tour for the 2013-14 season is California's world-renowned Northstar resort.
Located near the southern shores of Lake Tahoe, Northstar is, quite simply, one of the premier freestyle destinations on the planet. While the mountain in it's entirety is made up of some 1200 hectares of diverse skiable terrain, it is Northstar's seven terrain parks and two halfpipes (including the 22' Superpipe designed by Shaun White, the back-to-back Olympic gold-medal-winning snowboarder) that truly make it a mecca for the purveyors of newschool freestyle skiing. And, if you don't believe us, just ask 2013 FIS Freestyle halfpipe World Champion David Wise, the freeski torchbearer for Northstar's illustrious team.
The 2013-14 season will see the FIS Freestyle World Cup tour bring back-to-back halfpipe and slopestyle competitions to sunny California, and the showdown at Northstar promises to be one not to be missed.
