Located at the foot of the historic Julier Pass, the town of Silvaplana serves as the base for the Corvatsch-Sils-Silvaplana ski resort group. Boasting one of the highest mountain stations in Europe, Corvatsch's 120kms of pistes and incredible 1506m vertical drop allow the mountain to showcase an impressive richness of terrain.
The mountain's size and variety are perhaps no better displayed than during the two weekends of the Engadinsnow competition and celebration, wherein the resort first invites some of the world's best big mountain freeskiers to its slopes to participate in freeride and parallel freeride competitions, before turning around the following weekend and welcoming the FIS Freestyle tour to its top-level terrain park for World Cup slopestyle action.
Both young athletes just needed to show up on Saturday, but both did much more than that.
Course designed by Schneestern snowpark company promises top-level competition.
