Eveline Bhend (SUI), who finished ninth in the Olympic debut of Slopestyle at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games, has announced to step back from active competing.

The 33-year-old freeskier who earned two World Cup podiums in six FIS World Cup starts said: “I was thinking a lot about what to do next and what kind of direction my life should take. My heart told me that it's time for something new.”

The Bern Oberland resident will start working as a coach for Bern Ski with young up- and-coming talents.

“It's about time to share my experience and although what I learned over the course of my studies.”

Besides training the youth one a week, Bhend will also focus on qualification as a mental coach.
