Ayana Onozuka (JPN, 87.70) and Gus Kenworthy (USA, 90.00) have laid down the best scores in the halfpipe qualifiers for this season's second halfpipe World Cup of the FIS Freestyle tour.

While the Bronze medalist of the 2013 Voss/Oslo World Champs continued her outstanding streak of top qualifier results by being the only Japanese skier to make it to the finals on both sides, men and women, Kenworthy led a strong US team into the finals by besting a stacked field.

The top 12 men's and ladies' newschoolers survived the cut and will go for the big shot in the finals scheduled for tonight, Dec. 20, 7 PM MST (3 AM CET).
