Anthony Benna wasn't especially notable from his World Cup start in 2008/09 leading up to the end of the 2013/14 World Cup campaign. Though always a smooth skier, in that time the Frenchman was only able to register two podiums in 74 World Cup starts and no results of note in his two Olympic Winter Games appearances and five world championships before he took to the slopes for the 2014/15 campaign.
However, in 2014/15 Benna found a different gear, beginning the season with third-place finish at Ruka (FIN), finishing the season with his first career victory at home in Megeve (FRA), and winning Kreischberg 2015 Freestyle World Ski Championships gold in a dual moguls battle with top dog Mikael Kingsbury (CAN) in the middle of the season.
Along with the world championships gold, Benna ended up finishing 2014/15 fourth overall in the moguls World Cup - the best result of his 11 seasons on the tour.
In 2015/16 Benna struggled somewhat, only finding the top-10 three times in the season's eight events. However, he did manage one podium and it was a big one, as he scored a victory at the biggest World Cup competition of the season in Deer Valley (USA).
