  • Still just 23 years old, Australia's Britteny Cox is already a veteran of nine FIS Freestyle Skiing moguls World Cup seasons and two Olympic Winter Games, having joined the tour back when she was 14 years old and competed in the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Olympic events.

Few athletes in any sport rise to such a high level at such a young age. Still, though while her strong skill set was apparent from the start, Cox's ranking at the end of her first eight World Cup seasons never reached higher than 14th, which she recorded in 2013/14.

However, a bronze medal performance at the Kreischberg 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Austria hinted that there could be big things to come for the young lady from Wodonga.

In 2016/17, Cox made good on that promise in a way that few saw coming.

Kicking off the season with the first victory of her career at the annual season-opener in Ruka (FIN), Cox launched a season that would see her go on to win six more times and earn a pair of third-place results for a total of nine podiums in eleven season events, giving her both the moguls crystal globe and the Freestyle overall title by season's end.

However, Cox wasn't done with her winning ways at the end of the World Cup season, as she kept her momentum going into the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Spain, as she was able to add the biggest accolade of the year to her season's haul when she claimed gold at the single moguls event to cap off an incredible campaign.

In one season, Britt Cox transformed from 'one to watch' to 'the one to beat,' and heading into the 2017/18 World Cup season and the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter games in Korea has become the standard by which all others will be measured on the moguls circuit.
