A skier since the age of 2 and the golden child of Hanover, Vermont, USA, at the age of 27 Hannah Kearney has now banked a career that will ensure she goes down in history as one of the greatest athletes to ever strap on a pair of skis.
Her resume speaks for itself: as the the 2005 and 2013 moguls World Champion, the World Cup moguls Crystal Globe winner in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013, the freestyle overall Crystal Globe champion for 2011 and 2012, and the Olympic moguls gold medal winner at Vancouver in 2010, Kearney has simply won everything there is to win in the realm of moguls skiing.
The scary part for her competition is that she just seems to be getting stronger.
While an inventory of Hannah's trophy case is nothing short of spectacular, digging deeper into her remarkable career serves to really illustrate the dominance that the thoughtful athlete has leveraged on the World Cup in her decade on the circuit. In 97 career starts, Hannah has 54 podiums. Of those 54 podiums, 36 are victories. Of those 36 victories, 16 came consecutively during one magical streak that lasted from January 2011 to February 2012.
Add it all up, and the portrait emerges of a truly special talent. With her 54 podiums - along with six World Championship medals and six Crystal Globes and one Olympic gold medal - Hannah stands now as the most decorated FIS Freestyle World Cup athlete of all time. With her streak of 16 wins in a row, Hannah holds the record for the longest win streak of all time in any FIS discipline. And with her immense talent and fierce determination to win, those stats are only going to deepen, and her legacy will only continue to grow.
We are in the Hannah Kearney age of mogul skiing, it seems, and nothing will ever be the same.
