Crowned the 2013/14 moguls Rookie of the Year when she just 15 years old, since then France's Perrine Laffont has done nothing but build on the incredible promise she showed in her inaugural World Cup season.
In 2015/16 - in just her third year on the World Cup and just 17 years old - Laffont made the jump to the class of moguls elite, finishing in the top 10 in all but one competition while registering two victories in the final three events of the season to jump into third place on the moguls World Cup standings by year's end.
After finishing the season off with a win in the single moguls at the junior world championships in Are (SWE), Laffont set about training through to the summer to get ready for what would be her most impressive season yet.
In the 2016/17 moguls World Cup season Laffont stepped it up yet again, taking five podiums and top-10s in all but one event to finish the winter ranked second overall behind only Britteny Cox of Australia. And while her impressive control and consistency earned her respect from all corners of the moguls world, came time for the final to competitions of the season at the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships, she would wow the crowds yet again.
First, Laffont took the first world championships medal of her career, by coming runner-up to Cox in the Sierra Nevada 2017 single moguls competition. Then, just one day later, she would have the best day of skiing of her young career to win the dual moguls competition, giving her the unique distinction of holding a junior world championship and true world championship title at the same time.
Still just 19 years old, it's impossible to predict just how high the ceiling might be for Perrine Laffont. However, it wouldn't be unreasonable to predict crystal globes and Olympic medals in the near future for the impressive athlete.
