Schaerer lucky under circumstances
Aerials athlete Tanja Schaerer can heave a sigh of relief: Her injury suffered during a training crash at the last World Cup stop at Val St. Come is not as bad as initially feared.
As a result, a participation at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games is still within reach.
Schaerer was diagnosed with a 3mm bone splintering in her right fibulae and will thus underwent a tight physio rehab schedule enabling her to join her Swiss team mates for the training camp scheduled in Finland in the next days.
“I have the green light to tax my leg again,” she said.
Having already meet the national qualification criteria for Sochi Schaerer added: “I'm confident that I will be ready for the competition in Sochi.”
