Before heating things up with the World Cup opener at Nakiska December 6 and 7 the Austrian squad meets up for a first acid test on the Stubai glacier to find out who is the best national ski crosser.

While the Europa Cup which was scheduled for today had to be canceled due to bad weather with strong winds and fog, the team of head coach Gerold Posch will now kick off their season with the Austrian Nationals tomorrow.

It will be a very good first standpoint. We had some good preparation and will find out where we are meeting some tough international competitors,” said Posch.

Andreas Matt, Christoph Wahrstötter, Thomas Zangerl as well as their female World Cup team mates Christina Staudinger, Katrin Ofner and Andrea Limbacher, who is most likely to celebrate her comeback from knee injury suffered last January, will meet starters from Germany, Russia and the Czech Republic as well as Austria's Europa Cup team.

Qualifiers for the Nationals will take place at 10:45 AM (CET) with the finals scheduled for 1 PM (CET).
