One day after the Austrian Nationals went down on the Pitztal glacier, the hosting nation's ski cross athletes underlined their good shape by winning the season's first Europa Cup races.

Katrin Ofner, who had claimed her career's eighth national title only 24 hours before, secured the win in the women's finals ahead of Polish athlete Karolina Riemen-Zerebecka and Andrea Limbacher (AUT).

On the men's side of things Johannes Aujesky celebrated his career's first win on the Europa Cup tour.

In a very close and thrilling final, the 21-year-old came out successfully crossing the finish line ahead of Germans Tim Hronek and Valentin Egger.
