As the Telegraph reported online yesterday, Ed Drake has launched the UK's first ski cross club to encourage amateurs into the sport and create a pathway to Pyeongchang 2018.

The British ski cross champion took this initiative as ski cross provided a lots of excitement at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games but Team GB failed to field a single racers.

This is what Drake wants to avoid for 2018.

The Ski X Performance Centre (SXPC) is based at The Snow Centre Hemel Hempstead, and together with former British champion Gregg Samuels, Drake hopes the club will encourage amateurs into the sport.

In addition, it should also provide a pathway for athletes to progress to Olympic level in arguably one of the sport's fastest and most competitive discipline.
