The clock continues to tick down to the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships that will take place in January 2015 in Kreischberg (AUT).

With the busiest schedule of any World Championship event in FIS history, members of the 2015 Kreischberg Local Organising Committee, Austrian Ski Association and a FIS delegation that included Freestyle Skiing Coordinator Joe Fitzgerald and FIS Ski Cross Race Director Martin Fiala met in the Austrian region of Styria on 31st July 2014 for a Coordination Group Meeting.

The agenda included fine tuning the competition schedule and contingency plans in case of inclement weather, as well as an assessment of sports demands and notably an in-depth discussion of the schedule from a television perspective.

A total of 12 Freestyle Skiing medal events are on the schedule in Kreischberg with the competitions being staged in a 10-day period from 16th-25th January 2015.

Freestyle Skiing Coordinator Joseph Fitzgerald commented: “The 2015 Organising Committee, under the leadership of Hello Haas, has been working really hard to confirm that all of the different services and overlays are working together. Our focus during this inspection was to put together the sport and TV schedules so they operate seamlessly. The Organisers are undertaking massive measures to stage the Worlds in 2015 with a fresh perspective and to continue to build on the momentum for the disciplines gained from the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.”
