FIS President Gian Franco Kasper

According to our statutes, promoting ski sports is the main declared aim of FIS, and as such, a duty which we must all bear in mind. The races (8,600 in total in the 2011/2012 season) and the annual World Cup competitions in our various disciplines are the most important way of achieving this ultimate aim. They represent the arena or even the tool by which we can showcase the abilities and performance of our athletes at the top level.

Mission and Vision

The FIS Mission is clear:  For skiing and snowboarding to be the first choice winter sport and recreational activity. Through its many activities and competitions, FIS ensures it is meeting that mission.
