The FIS organisational structure has been developed to maximize the ability for FIS to meet its goals as the international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. 

FIS Congress

Representing the highest decision-making authority within FIS, the FIS Congress takes place on a biannual basis gathering some 1,000 delegates.

FIS Council 2018-2020

The FIS Council consists of 20 members: a President, four Vice Presidents, 16 Members, 2 members of the Athletes Commission and a Secretary General.


Chairmen and Members of Committees, Sub-Committees and Working Groups are advisory to the FIS Council and responsible for technical and other specified activities.

Technical Officials

In order to officiate at all competitions on the FIS Calendar, there are more than 1,200 Technical Delegates and some 1,200 Judges.


FIS established the Marc Hodler Foundation (MHF) in the year 1998, which has its domicile in Oberhofen (SUI) with the objective of promoting ski sport globally.

FIS Travel Service AG plans and handles trips for the extended sports family whilst specialising in team transportation.
