3rd FIS SnowKidz Award goes to the Netherlands

On 6th June 2014, the presentation of the 3rd FIS SnowKidz Award took place during the 49th FIS Congress.

The 3rd edition of the Award saw high-quality nominations from 14 countries. The jury, consisting of Satu Kalajainen (FIN), representing the FIS Youth & Children's' Coordination Group, Antoine Goetschy, Head of the Youth Olympic Games at the IOC, and Riet R Campell (SUI), President of International Ski Instructors' Association, all had a difficult task in selecting the top nine. After careful analysis the nine were selected and provided to the FIS Council. A second round of judging was undertaken and the results were announced:

1st Netherlands - Wintersport Experience
2nd United States of America - NANA Nordic
3rd Finland - Hill Tournament for Kids
4th Sweden - Alle pa Snow
5th Former Yogoslav Republic of Macedonia – Site na Sneg
6th Switzerland - Rivella Family Contest
7th Germany - Primary Schools Contest for Ski Jumping
Tie 8th Austria - Skifahren mit Flocke
Tie 8th Belarus - Kids as active WSD Organisers

FIS Secretary General Sarah Lewis remarked “It is excellent to see the variety of events and high standard of nominations. We would like to encourage even more National Ski Associations to take part in the next edition of the award taking place in 2016.”
