The Sub-Committee for World and Continental Cups discussed a new prize money distribution split for individual World Cup and stage World Cup competitions. For the upcoming season, the Top 20 would receive prize money, instead of the Top 10, with the total amount remaining unchanged.

FIS Cross-Country World Cup 2017/18

For the upcoming winter the World Cup calendar remains the same except for the change of techniques between 16th (free technique) and 17th December 2017 (classic technique) in Toblach (ITA).

Bonus seconds at FIS Tour de Ski

Bonus seconds for FIS Tour de Ski sprint competitions were modified. The maximum bonus seconds for victory are still 60 seconds whereby the split for the Top 30 is new to better reflect the efforts of athletes competing in the final heats. 

Long-term strategy

The Cross-Country Committee continued its discussion about the future of Cross-Country Skiing and its strategy. Conclusions of the expert working group including FIS staff, TV and marketing experts were presented, including a proposal of a streamlined competition programme.
